Karazhan: Attumen the Horseman
Karazhan: Attumen the Horseman
Gratz to participants in KOL's first raid to kara, and gratz getting down Attumen first time. Thought I would provide a brief summary of strat for each boss we encounter for raiders to read up on and to save time on the day.

Summary:
Relatively simple fight. Requires two tanks.
Phase 1 - Midnight
OT opens up combat by pulling midnight (the horse) into a corner After OT has secured agro, DPS begins on midnight. When midnight reaches 95 % health, Attumen appears.
Phase 2 - Attumen
The MT pulls Attumen away from midnight. DPS, however, remains on midnight. Healers need to stop healing momentarily to allow the MT to get threat on Attumen. Any agro reducing abilities of healers/dps as well as tank agro enhancing abilities should be used here. Idealy a warrior should tank Attumen and be disarming Attumen. This reduces the amount of damage Attumen causes. When midnight reaches 25% health, Attumen and midnight combine and we enter the final phase of the fight.
Phase 3 - Attumen and Midnight
Threat is wiped, and again MT needs to pick up agro, so don't start charging pyroblast straight away. Attumen should be tanked facing AWAY from the rest of the party to avoid cleave damage to multiple members. More or less tank and spank from here on in. Every now and then he will charge a member of the party, but this can easily be healed up. Druids and mages need to remove curses that emerge.
And that is it. A gear check for Kara that isn't too taxing. But things can go wrong. Watch your threat and bring pots to ensure you do not run out of mana.
